As a great weekend destination with excellent lodging, good shopping, golf, attractions, and festivals year-round, Fargo also has more than 250 restaurants -- from fast food spots to elegant venues of haute cuisine. Culinary variety stretches from rib-sticking down-home fare at all-you-can-eat buffets and places with names like Mom’s Kitchen to Asian eateries, Mexican outposts and restaurants for Greek, Italian, Cajun and other fare. Many of the nation’s chains from Dairy Queen to Domino’s and Lonestar Steakhouse dot the area, along with eye-catchers like Barnstormer Restaurant near Hector International Airport, Basie’s on 42nd Street, or Grizzly’s Grill N Saloon in the West Acres Shopping Center. For far-out tastes (and for take-out), Fargo’s Space Aliens Grill & Bar, with a crater in its center, is known for Planet of the Zombies Taco Burgers.
